Michelle Minyon

Michelle sought out yoga asana, pranayama, & meditation in early 2002 as a way to manage anxiety and to explore self and relationships.  She began her studies with Christina Sible and Sara Azarius at Yoga On Centre’s former incarnation Shadyside Yoga.  She explored various hatha yoga styles and teachers over the years until her path led her back to Iyengar yoga, again with Christina and Sara.

Michelle is drawn to the Iyengar method’s challenge of simultaneously focusing inward while being asked to pay attention to the details of the postures and to remain in touch with the external experience of the classroom, teacher, and other students. The classes challenge her to be both grounded in the present moment while being stimulated to growth in and interactive group environment.

As a student and as a teacher, Michelle’s goals are the same: to create space within her body, mind and emotions and to make connections among the body’s parts and between herself and others.

Michelle brings great joy to her practice and to her teaching and is grateful to be sharing in the yoga process at Yoga On Centre.
