Ayurvedic Massage, Cooking Classes and Lectures

Ayurveda, the “science of life” from ancient India, prescribes a regimen of practices including lifestyle changes, a balancing diet, cleansing rituals and essential massage.

The Ayurvedic system aims to reestablish the body’s natural ability to heal and to align itself with the rhythms of nature, facilitating recovery for those suffering from diseases or chronic imbalances.

Yoga On Centre offers a variety of services, treatments, and workshops. Whether you're merely curious about Ayurveda or are wanting to to integrate Ayurveda into your lifestyle, we have options for you.

Our Ayurvedic program is overseen by Dr. Lina Thakar, BAMS, licensed Ayurvedic physician from India, and Founder and Director of AYURVEDA IN PITTSBURGH, LLC. She specializes in an Ayurvedic approach to health that guides you to live your life in harmony with nature - an Integrated Mind & Body Wellness Program for the Restoration of Health & Imbalance Prevention.

Determine Your Dosha

Ayurveda is a form of alternative medicine which was conceived in ancient India and continues to grow popular worldwide and especially in the modern western world. Predominently preventive in nature, Ayurveda is the science of creating balance in the body through proper diet, yoga, meditation, and detoxifying treatments including massage.

According to Ayurveda, all people have a specific constitution they are born with, known as doshas. There are 3: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You can be comprised of one or more doshas, and during your initial consulation with Dr. Lina she will determine your dosha.

Seasons also effect our doshas, therefore Dr. Lina will be holding cooking classes at the onset of every season to help us prepare for the months to come.
